It has taken us almost a year to find somewhere that we feel offers the perfect environment for you as our students to learn and practise the art of Tango. La Finca came highly recommended and won us over when we visited.

Hotel Finca El Cerrillo is a secluded country house in gorgeous Andalucía, that has its traditions in Olive farming. It is a small Finca, with only 14 guestrooms, but there is a sense that it has been sculpted with great care, over time and with attention to detail that you can only appreciate by being there. There is a sense of presence and mindfulness because, quite simply, you wouldn’t really want to be anywhere else!

A lovely couple from the UK – Sue & Gordon have lovingly restored and run La Finca. Alongside Alison and the rest of the team, they all care about ‘the good life’ and hosting to perfection, as much as we do. You’ll immediately feel at home and be welcomed with a healthy, filling lunch on the patio, overlooking the pool, with a drink of your choice from the Honesty Bar inside.

There will be 18 hours of Tango Classes throughout the week, with classes taking place in the morning and later in the afternoon to avoid the hottest part of the day (please see the timetable below for more information).

Classes will take place on the outdoor dancefloor, though should we have to migrate inside, there is a spacious and light studio with a mirrored wall that we can use as well.

Around classes, these areas will be open for practise and social dance with private lessons also available (the choice will be given to the student as to which space is preferred).

The evenings will provide opportunity for social dance with relaxed milongas & informal prácticas.

Should you wish to join us on the excursion afternoon/evening, we will be attending a local Milonga. Details to be finalised depending on group preference!

The hospitality begins as soon as you’ve got your bags and found your way through the airport, as transfers are included. The shuttle bus will collect you from the airport (or the centre of Malaga is also possible if arranged in advance) on the day of arrival and return you to the airport at the end of the retreat. It takes around an hour and 15 minutes to get to La Finca from the airport.

All meals at La Finca are included, (7 x breakfast, 7 x buffet lunch and 6 x 3 course dinner (one meal out on excursion day/evening)). We will also visit a local restaurant two evenings of the week, which is included in the price. The food is delicious and varied, fresh, locally sourced and made with skills and love!

What with beautiful terraced gardens offering sunny and shady patios, an olive grove to explore complete with a treehouse, an outdoor pool with views to the hills that you can roam, an honesty bar, and gorgeously unique airy Mediterranean air-conditioned rooms all with views, sunshine, tango and warmth on tap…this really is the place to be.
